F Comedy is a talent development program that curates and cultivates new comic talent. F Comedy helps comedians develop their artistry, refine their technique, polish their work and find their voice by working with a select group of seasoned comedians and professionals at open mics, workshops, seminars and produced shows. Funny Business Seminars and Panel Discussions Felicia produces a few panel discussions a year to help women succeed in the industry. Felicia is broadening her discussion to help everyone in comedy. Felicia’s moderated panels are tailored to help comedians learn more about the business side of comedy. Participants learn about topics like: ‘how to reach out to a booker’, ‘when is the right time to contact an agent or manager’ and ‘how to write and submit a packet for late night’. Come mingle with fellow comedians and professionals in the industry!

  • Join comedian Eddie Brill for a 5-hour intensive workshop where you will receive individual coaching on the spot from Eddie, as well as from fellow classmates. This workshop allows for a unique student-teacher perspective in the process of building a firm foundation for you to easily understand how to truly be yourself onstage.Please come prepared with at least 5 minutes of material. About Eddie Brill: Eddie Brill is a well respected and very funny stand up comedian here in the USA and abroad.For seventeen years, he worked on The Late Show with David Letterman. You’ll learn about stage presence, mic handling, the basics of joke structure, and comedy writing skills, leading you to kill your first 5-minute set. The class will conclude with a show at West Side Comedy Club, where students can get on stage and try out their newly minted set in front of a live audience. Everyone who performs will walk away with a high-def recording of their set to take home. Our instructors are working comics themselves with credits to their name; they can speak directly to the industry as it is today.   • This 2-day intensive course will focus on monologue joke writing for late night television. You will learn how to write for the different styles and different voices of all the major shows including The Daily Show, The Tonight Show, and The Late Show. Some time will also be devoted to sketch ideas and correspondent pieces for these various shows. We will discuss the daily process for late night comedy writing—what it's like to actually work there; how to keep up with multiple deadlines; how to excel and be noticed even among a large and diverse writing staff. You will become familiar with current guidelines for various shows that will help you prepare in advance and know what is expected of you for a standard submission. You will leave this class with an elevated understanding of late night comedy writing and an increased ability to write jokes individually as well as in a collaborative setting.About J.R.
