He's also worked on the 2020 VMAs and the 2021 Golden Globes and, most recently, was the head writer for Comedy Central's Hell Of A Week with Charlamagne Tha God.Charle's joke writing ability has gotten him much work in stand-up comedy. Still, he's also leveraged his excellent hosting skills to become an even higher commodity. - CLASS: Comedy 101 with Chanel Ali
- Are you interested in becoming a comic? Do you need to brush up on your skills? Join us for Comedy 101, where our instructors focus on the basics, and students begin to find their voice and define their style onstage.Our 6-week course reviews topics including where to find material, joke structures, writing skills & stage presence, the basics of crafting a set, and how to be in the moment. The course concludes with a show at West Side Comedy Club, providing students the opportunity to perform their 5-minute set in front of a live audience. Please note: Final Performances are recorded and subject to be used on our social media platforms. Our instructors are all working comics themselves with credits to their name; they can speak directly to the industry as it is today. About Chanel Ali:Chanel is a standup comedian who blossomed on the Philadelphia circuit before taking her commanding stage presence to NYC. She has two Comedy Central specials, she was a Just For Laughs New Face, and she’s passed at most NYC comedy clubs. - CLASS: Beyond The Basics with Brian Scott McFadden, a 6-week class
- This Advanced 6-week course will focus on writing techniques, stage presence, and help you continue to hone your unique comedy voice. Every week you will have the opportunity to get onstage and receive feedback in order to level-up your 5-minute set. The class concludes with a show at West Side Comedy Club, providing students the opportunity to perform onstage in front of a live audience, and receive a professional recording of their set (please note recordings are subject to be used on our social media platforms). All of our instructors are working comics themselves with credits to their name; they are able to speak directly to the industry as it is today. About Brian Scott McFadden: Brian Scott McFadden is an actor and comedian who has been doing stand up comedy for over 25 years. He has performed all over the world & appears regularly in clubs all over NYC. He has been seen on Late Night With David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Star Search as well as MTV, Comedy Central.
