  • Control what you can control: Organization and Discipline in Joke Writing, a Seminar with Adam Muller
  • Adam Muller started standup comedy after a decade on Wall Street, and he's often asked if he can apply any of the skills he learned in the corporate world to his comedy career. The answer is yes. During the seminar, he will expand on that. The seminar isn't about joke writing, punching up your material, or how to be funny. It's about how to use your time and resources as efficiently as possible. It has become more complicated to be a comedian. Of course, you need to write and refine jokes. But you also need to tape your sets, edit videos into clips for social media, post on social media, email bookers, promote shows, etc. Adam will discuss what he calls the "admin" of comedy.Everyone has a different system, and there is no right way, but maybe some of the things Adam discuss' can help you get more of the time you have to spend on your comedy.About Adam Muller:Adam Muller is a New York City based former finance professional turned stand-up comedian. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Adam’s clean, smart comedy blends the personal and the observational while being simultaneously clever and relatable.Adam’s first hour long stand-up comedy special “According to Plan” was released in September 2022 and is available on Amazon Prime and YouTube where it has been viewed over 139,000 times (but who’s counting?) and the audio album is in rotation on Sirius XM. Adam recorded his follow up hour this past December in New York City and it will be released in the first half of 2024.Adam has featured in multiple comedy festivals including the New York Comedy Festival, the Asheville Comedy Festival, and the Boston Comedy Festival, amongst others. Adam has also qualified for the World Series of Comedy Main Event in Las Vegas each of the past six years reaching the top 14 (out of 500) in 2021 and 2023.Adam performs all over the United States and sometimes in Canada and is a regular at multiple New York City comedy clubs including West Side Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, and Standup NY.Policies: Payment is required to complete the registration process; No Refunds, No Exchanges, No Cancellations (No semester roll-overs).We reserve the right to remove anyone from a course and refund their money at any time for any reasonStudents enrolled in classes are entitled to free open mics at West Side Comedy ClubGraduation shows are taped, students who bring at least four (4) people are will receive their tape for free, otherwise they are subject to a $25 tape fee. Please be sure to read through our FAQ page for additional policiesIf you have any additional questions feel free to reach out to us using the contact form or by emailing [email protected]*scheduling subject to change

  • Improve Your Performance Skills with Denise Grayson - a Four week course
  • Stand-up comedy appears to be the most simplistic of all the arts. It’s in fact, puzzlingly difficult. It combines two elements, writing and the exposition of your words. In this masterclass you will get in contact with your body and voice. The connection with your own physicality is in fact the key to your connection with your audience. There’s just you. This class will help you tune your instrument. It will open you up and free your voice. Learned exercises, observations and repetition will enable you to feel at one with both your audience and yourself. You will acquire good habits. Denise works with each student individually. Students also learn from watching one another. For decades Denise has been helping performers elevate their work.EARLY BIRD PRICING AVAILBLE THROUGH AUGUST 1st - PLEASE REACH OUT TO [email protected] FOR DISCOUNT CODEAbout Denise GraysonDenise Grayson is a multi-disciplined actor/producer, and attorney, and founder of Denise Grayson Productions, where feature films in development include Walter Mosley’s sexistential novel, KILLING JOHNNY FRY, Rajiv Shah’s BLOOD AND THE RYE, and Christina Eliopoulos’ MOTHERLAND. Though many of us think we are natural performers (certainly I did), there is so much to learn about performance, poise and being real on stage and speaking in front of groups. She has helped my performance in myriad ways over these 19 years. I have now performed over 900 times at "The Strip" and clubs all over America, and been lucky enough to land 2 National commercials. She is so helpful in so many ways as to our public and private performance. Working with her is an excellent investment. My most hardy endorsement.- Michael Rakosi, Stand-Up ComicMy background is in production and I was selected by the American Film Institute to attend its Directing Workshop for Women. Denise was crucial during the entire process from pre-production to production of my DWW film. Analyzing the script and discussing the characters' motivations with Denise really enriched the process and increased my love for this art. Then it only got better when she visited the set and we were able to rehearse scenes with the actors. I am really looking forward to working with Denise on my future projects.- Juliana Penaranda-Loftus, Producer and DirectorDenise has brought out the best in me and allowed me to recognize my own strengths. With her guidance I realized nothing is impossible. She has helped me succeed in both business and personal relationships and the best part is she didn’t direct change but rather helped me focus and realize I held the answer. She is a gem.- Robert Jay Nemrow, Esq., AttorneyPolicies: Class is for 18+No Refunds, No Exchanges, No Cancellations (No semester roll-overs).We reserve the right to remove anyone from a course and refund their money at any time for any reason.Students who enroll in class are entitled to free open mics at West Side Comedy Club.Graduation shows are taped, students who bring at least four (4) people are will receive their tape for free, otherwise they are subject to a $25 tape fee. Please be sure to read through our FAQ page for additional policies. If you have any additional questions feel free to reach out to us using the contact form or by emailing [email protected]*scheduling subject to change
